Ex. Primary School Mates Meet After 28 years - Saviour's Primary School Obanikoro, Lagos

Gbemisola Momoh - Lagos.

After 28 years of parting, at the end of their primary school, a group of men and women held a reunion party which they planned via the social media.

They are members of the 1988 set of Saviour's primary school, Obanikoro, Lagos. The event which held at Masterpiece resource development centre along Babatunde Oki Street in Ilupeju had a gathering of happy childhood peers.

Anchored by the CEO of Guguru FM Kingsley Momoh who is also a member of the set, the reunion was hosted by Pastor Mrs. Modupe Oyekunle, a member of the alumni set who alongside her husband, Pastor Rotimi Oyekunle co founded the Masterpiece centre.

Addressing the gathering, Pastor Oyekunle noted that being alive is the gift of GOD and all the members should be grateful to GOD for it. Corroborating her mate, another alumni, Mrs. Abisola Ibrahim noted that being alive is a sign that GOD has not finished with each individual, hence, nobody should suffer in self pity. After a prayer session which was more of a thanksgiving session, they also observed a minute silence for a former headmistress of the school Mrs. Sogbesanwho passed on few years back.

The members who are professionals in various fields took turns to formally introduce themselves and briefly explained their businesses or jobs. They reminded themselves of funny moments, sang songs they used to sing while in school and much more. A mock election was held and interim executives were chosen to stir the new association till December when the group hopes to have increased with the involvement of more members of the set. Part of the duties of the stirring executives was also to what the set can do to make a credible impact in the life of the school that served as their cradle in education.
A talk on preparing for retirement was also inculcated into the reunion with finance consultant, Adedotun Adesote manning the segment. He advised his colleagues on the importance of planning for retirement and the pros of becoming an entrepreneur.
Other members of the alumni in attendance were Misters Sunday Ogunmoye, James Agholor, Babajide Taiwo, Afiz Banjo, Afeez Shiyanbola, Seyi Wiliams, Ayoola Kalejaiye, Shamsideen Tijani, Olaniyi Akinya, Abass Akinbola and former deputy chairman of Kosofe local government, Hon. Akeem Ogunsanya.
The other women in attendance were, Mrs. Dupe Shofela, Bola Onifade,Olabisi Ojebantale,Adeola Rufai,  Ibironke Dadeowo and Sola Otubu. Earlier in the June, the same set had a reunion program held in London, England with members based in Ireland and the UK in attendance.

Saviour's primary school is located at Sherperdhill compound in Obanikoro Lagos. The same compound that is home to famous Baptist Academy, Obanikoro. The school was founded in 1980 and this set is the second having started in 1982, This is the first time such a move has been taken by public primary school to the best of Guguru FM's investigations.
