On Monday, June 2, the stars aligned with fashion's most celebrated designers in New York City for the CFDA Awards.

While Rihanna certainly stole the show —and took home the Fashion Icon Award—in a sheer Adam Selman ensemble featuring a custom dress, gloves and headscarf embellished with more than 216,000 Swarovski crystals paired with Paul Morelli and Jacob & Co. jewels, she wasn't alone in a head-turning look.

Red carpet style darling Lupita Nyong'o, in electric blue eyeshadow and a bouffant hairstyle, also wore a unique look. The patterned Suno crop top and below-the-knee trousers marked a significant departure from her solid-colored column dresses that dominated her 2014 awards show appearances. "It's always changing," the Oscar winner (and just-announced Star Wars: Episode VII star) told Us Weekly at the bash of her style evolution.

Fellow Oscar winner Marion Cotillard opted for an eye-catching Dior Haute Couture shift with Dior shoes and a Dior Fine Jewelry ring and watch. The embroidered white silk dress was designed by Raf Simons, the evening's recipient for International Award.

Coco Rocha looked like a modern-day My Fair Lady in a monochromatic dress by Christian Siriano (her date for the evening!) featuring an off-the-shoulder bodice and graphic mermaid skirt. The supermodel finished the look with a black hat on top of slicked, parted hair and a vampy lip.
